ProCenter Marsa Alam/El Gouna - Flights and entry to Hurghada
We are pleased that Condor has been offering flights from Germany again since March. From Frankfurt, Munich and Düsseldorf airports to Hurghada.
Entry into Egypt requires a negative PCR test. You were allowed to fly with an antigen test, but in Hurghada you are asked to do a PCR test, which can be done quickly and unbureaucratically for € 30.
Masks are prescribed wherever people meet, although one or the other here sometimes forgets. As long as you do not arrive on public holidays, the hotels are still clearly occupied. Due to the booking situation, some hotels are still closed. But the number of visitors from Europe is slowly increasing again, depending on the flight offers.
The situation at the surf center is very relaxed, we have few visitors, which we are of course very happy about. In Marsa Alam, the focus is on wing foiling. Our teachers Ibi and Ahmed are already familiar with this new sport.
The return journey to Europe requires a little planning, as you have to show a negative PCR test at check-in, which should not be older than 48 hours - this means entry into Germany, for example.
Many hotels already offer this as a service, such as the Hilton Hotel, which is currently frequented in Marsa Alam.
You are practically prepared for this requirement and the infrastructure for this is in place.
German travelers then have to create a digital entry report before departure. Here is the link https://www.einreiseanmeldung.de
The confirmation is sufficient in electronic form, e.g. on the mobile phone, and is requested at immigration / passport control. From personal experience, the trip to Egypt and back could be tackled without any problems. (As of May 2021)
Finally feeling the sand on your feet and the wind in the kite or sails, the additional organizational effort is definitely worth it!
